During the 2020-2021 school year Amy worked with her students at Creighton University to “grow” a community clay garden titled PLANTED: where we grow from here. The project materializes the value of collaborative contribution, representing the community of artists who came together to create connections with others through art. The process of making allowed students to feel a part of something larger as opposed to the isolation felt as a result of the pandemic. This garden is an ongoing project, and demonstrates the value of working together to build a beautiful and more just world, that even the smallest contribution can positively impact the strength of the whole. Each handcrafted original piece of ceramic art was made by a Creighton student and recognizes their connection to each other and hopes for their/our future.
